Most gruesome stories may be hidden under a seemingly glittering resume. Lolo Jones, who took home the USA as well as the World championships in hurdle events in 2013, been able to achieve this level with a lot of work and perseverance. Jones grew up with an extremely difficult and hardship-filled life as the child of a single mother who had five other children. Her mother was constantly changing her location and she spent some time living at the bottom of her home. Jones lived a nomadic existence that forced her to change school every year up to the age of high school. Jones had to live away from her mother at Theodore Roosevelt School in order to pursue her interest in track. She lived with different families during high school to be focused on her studies. Jones received an award called the Gatorade track and field athlete of the Award in high school. As a student cellist, Jones was also part of her school's school orchestra.
